Wahoo!!! I made it I didn't die on the side of the path.
Friday I didn't have any appointments in the morning at work so I decided to hit a body pump class before I came into work. When I was there the teacher asked how many of you are running in the Ogden Marathon? This is the first time I heard anything about a marathon.
I did end up making it into work that day and my boss asked me if I was excited to run in the marathon?!?!?! I'm not running I exclaimed. Well one of the nurses I work with is running the 5K I found out, and my boss had it mixed up in her head. Well I was only at work for 4 hours, but that was enough time for me to get talked into signing up and running the 5K the next day.
For of those who are like me you will like this tad bit of information. 5K= 3 miles. (I should really figure these things out before I say yes)
I'm not a regular runner in fact I don't really like to run because I get bored. I take body attack classes regularly at the gym and that is about as much cardio as I get into. Luckily that was enough for me to finish the 5K in 29 minutes. Well it was actually 29:56 or something like that. Since 29 minutes sounds better than 30 minutes I'll round down. I had so much fun though!
It was fun to push myself and see what I could actually do. Our bodies are capable of so much more than what we give them credit for. I'm not going to lie when I woke up this morning and got out of bed after one step I almost collapsed. My butt, hips, calves, hamstrings and the side of my right foot hurts, oh yes and my abs are very sore. Its all a good sore except for my foot. I told my husband I'm going to start running 3 miles everyday to keep my abs sore :) I'm a lot of talk though.
My friend told me she is looking into doing the Park City 1/2 marathon in August. A half of a marathon is 13 miles . She said she is going to walk the whole thing. Thats far enough away that I think I could start training myself to run. I'll have to keep you posted and let you know how I'm doing.

I'm proud of you! It makes me have a side ache just THINKING about it!
Good job! I love doing 5k runs...its enough to push me but still possible! Now your half marathon thats crazy talk! However it would be cool to be able to say that you have done that! Let me know how all that training goes!
That is awesome! Good job, I can't wait to hear how your half marathon turns out. My dad ran the full marathon on Saturday, I think he is just a little crazy.
Way to go!
