oops I'm behind

I have been a slacker when it comes to updating my blog. I will post our Halloween pictures as soon as I get ahold of them from my mother-in-law. If you would like to see Chloe's costume click here.

Anthony and I have been busy painting. We got a new couch last month so of course we have to re-
decorate. Anthony just nods his head and rolls his eyes. Boys they don't understand. I think they would be happy living in a bachelor pad with mismatched furniture for the rest of their lives, just as long as it is comfortable.

Here is a sneak peek of our accent wall. I will post more pictures as soon as it is all done. We still have a lot of work to do, but were taking it piece by piece, which is making me crazy I am not a very patient person!!! By the time we get everything done well probably decided to move :) Oh yeah notice the pillow in the pic I worked very hard in talking my mom into making these for me.

Pumpkin Time

Yeah!!! it's Pumpkin Time.

I carved my first pumpkin last year. I thought it was fun, but gave it a 5 out of 10 on the fun meter. My family has always painted our pumpkins instead of carving them.. I give that a 10 out of 10.

I would love to say I was patient enough to wait for Anthony to help me paint pumpkins, but the truth is... I wasn't. I enjoyed painting pumpkins though. Anthony and I will have to plan a shopping trip to get more pumpkins and paint them :)

Here is a picture of my oh-so-happy sidekick

3 year anniversary

Anthony and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary. I can't believe it, doesn't that seem like such a looong time :) ?

We decided to get away for the weekend and headed up to Park City. Our weekend went as follows....

Friday after we got off work: we went up through the Weber Canyon and past the Morgan exit to Taggart's Grill. It is one of my favorite restaurants. We don't go there too often because of the drive, but I highly recommend it. They have the best desserts and everything I have tried there is soooo good. We finished our drive after dinner all while listening to "New Moon". The "New Moon" part was all Anthony's idea. He won't read the books, but he doesn't mind listening to them in the car. Ha ha I'm probably going to get in trouble for this tid bit of information.

We stayed at the West Gate Resorts.

Saturday: We walked around the new part of Park City. Anthony bought me a cute card holder that is pink with white polk a dots (I'm very excited about that if you can't tell), We ate lunch at a fancy restaurant known as Quiznos, we got much needed massages at a day spa, we rode the alpine coaster, stopped at The Rocky MOuntain Chocolate Factory for a caramel apple drizzled with chocolate and I got a little crazy and ordered a $3 truffle. We also went swimming in the 4th floor "adult only pool" that included a waterfall, steam room, sauna, and hot tub. *side note on the pool* Have you ever noticed when your a kid you don't care who is in the pool? You just cannon ball yourself right on in and swim with whomever is already there. When your an adult you play the musical chair game. Anthony and I got in the hot tub just as an older couple was switching to the pool. We eventually moved to the pool, but made sure to stay on our half. The older couple ended up switching to the hot tub again. It was the same as the sauna and steam room. The doors were see through so people would check to see if others were in there and then wait till they left before they would go in. I think I would rather be a kid again and just cannon ball it.

After swimming with the old people we got ready and went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. I think it was called Baja Cantina. You would think I would remember the name since we ate there two nights in a row.

Joseph and Kalee our brother and sister-in-law ended up coming up and spending the night so we could all play the next day.

Sunday (our actual anniversary): We woke up and went back to the "adult pool only" and played musical pools once again. After our fill of chlorine we got ready and went to Ruby Tuesdays for some lunch. Kalee and I made a plan and we all stuck to it. We hit up the first half of the outlet malls and then took a break to head to Coldstone Ice Cream and then headed back to hit the rest of the outlets. Joseph and Kalee had never been to the Olympic Park so we drove up there and happened to catch some of the skiers practicing. Kalee had never been to the old main street of Park City so of course we had to introduce her to this important part of restaurants and shops. After a hardday of walking and shopping we ended up at the Baja Cantina for some much needed Mexican food. Just as you think we must have been all worn out we ended up putting on our swimsuits and headed back to the "adult only pool" to rest our toesies in the hot tub.

Half the pictures we took are on Joseph and Kalee's camera, but here are a couple.

This is what happens when you take boys shopping for to long. They start dressing up and doing Michael Jackson impersonations.

Kalee and I found this pretty moose. Notice we are kissing it on the side of the cheeks because it is a girl moose. I'm not quite sure why I'm looking off to the side. Must have been a better looking moose over there

We took a ride on the FREE trolley that goes up and down the old main street.

Joseph in his dead sprint with the Olympic Torch

Hey Hey look at me I'm driving a bob sled.

Monday: Kalee and Joseph had left Sunday night so Anthony and I got ready and packed up all of our stuff and headed home. Of course on the drive we picked up where we left off on "New Moon". We went home and unpacked said hello to Chloe and then went out to lunch at Red Robin. I really feel like I gained a couple of "L" "B"s this weekend. Chloe was a bit mad at us for leaving her for the long weekend, but she had a lot of fun staying with Krista. Thanks again for watching her Krista.

I'm addicted

Today I went in for a dental check-up. I can never go in and just have my teeth cleaned and be done. A dental check is never a dental check-up for me it always has to include some kind of filling or drilling or something crazy. Anytime I have work done I always request the laughing gas. That is one of the qulifications my dentist has to meet. Must have laughing gas... check. Must have tvs in the ceiling.... check. Must be nice and a people person... check. Dr. Clint Iverson is awesome I highly recommend him.

Well I went in and listened to the hygenist talk, because obviously I have a million things in my mouth and can't talk back. Dr. Iverson checked and noticed a tiny little cavity and since he had a cancellation right after me they got me in right away. As soon I was on that glorious gas I felt like I was as light as a feather. The best way I can describe it is an out of body feeling. I am there, but I feel like I am standing watching myself get work done. They left me alone after he did the numbing shot and pretty soon I felt like I was a black ninja. Like I could fly through the air and karate chop. I noticed I was getting a little bit more loopy feeling, but when the doc asked I said no I'm fine. He put a little water in my mouth and told me to suck on the sucker, but embarrasingly enough I felt like I had no control of myself and ended up spitting the water all over and it ran down the sides of my face. Whats worse is I not only did that once, but twice. We ended up turning the gas down.

A little later he asked me questions and I anwered back, but everytime I talked I felt like my voice sounded funny. He must have noticed by a look on my face or something because he asked me "do you feel like you sound different when you talk?" I said yeah rather dazily, then he told me that he always thinks his voice sounds funny when he is on the gas for any dental work, and not manly either. I thought about it for a second and then said "mine does." and then broke into a fit of giggles that I couldn't stop.

Yep lauging gas the best thing ever!!!!!

Really.....

k0983815.jpg

So I wake up this morning bright eyed, bushy tailed, and ready for the day. I get ready, pick out an outfit according to what shoes I feel like wearing. Today it was my green and white ones with the big bows on them. I sit down and eat a bowl of the ole captain (captain crunch) and then realize, "Oh yeah, I was going to make an advertisement for an e-mail blast at work". I started making that and then before I realized it I was late for work. I jumped in my car and headed down the road. I called to let work know that I was going to be a couple of minutes late. Of course my first patient was already there and waiting, because they are better at getting to work on time than I am. As I'm about two minutes away I start going up a hill and my car has a blinking light that comes on and says off trac????? My first thought is oh no what if I go down the hill and have no brakes. I pull over to the side of the road and just think maybe if I turn it off and turn it back on it will reset or something. Well it wouldn't start back up. I called my dad, work, and Anthony. I did end up making it to work and after a poopy morning ended up having a really great day.

I did find out my problem. I ran out of gas. Surprise! Surprise! that would be my. Hold on let me count. This would be my 5th time since I have had a driver's license. I did get a lecture from my dad, which I wasn't to happy about, but I deserved. My boss came and picked me up and took me to work. I'm lucky to have such a nice boss.

All my patients were awesome and I made awesome tips. I think all but one patient re-scheduled to come back and see me. I sold the crap out of the skin care products today. Like I said for having such a blah morning it was a good day. I had one lady tell me about her mom who is 88 and dying from cancer and only has 2-3 months to live. The lady and I didn't click right away so I didn't know how the rest of the appointment was going to go, but we ended up chatting and having fun. When I took her to the front to re-schedule and ring up her product she told the receptionist "that she will for sure come back even if it is to just sit with me for an hour, because I was just so dang cute" I don't think that lady realized how much she made my day.

I had the best french fries from Gridellis and they make the best fry sauce.

A sales rep came in and brought us Vanilla Bean Frappuccinos. The cute lady I work with named Kelly is my life couch :) Today's lesson was we take off the whip cream on any drink because that adds 12 grams of fat to the drink. I don't know what I am going to do without her for two weeks while she is in Paris???

Well now it is almost 7:00 pm so my day is not quite over, but I will try to behave myself and not get in any more shenanigans.

Only Me

So I went to the Ogden Temple with my grandma today to do sealings. We were in a little room with only about 6 people in it. It was hot in this little room and I had so many clothing layers on it was starting to get to me. The sleeves on my dress were so tight that they wouldn't even budge to move them from my wrist. Well in the middle of one of the cute little old men talking I start feeling really light headed. One of the other sweet old men ask me "are you okay", well I'm a trooper there is no way a little heat is going to stop me. Next thing I know I feel my face color just drain, my ears start ringing, and then to top it off I loose sight and it all goes black. What a lovely day. Well a minute later I am out in the hall with a fan and searching for a drinking fountain. How embarrassing :) My grandma had to be the trooper and finish up for me. One of the old men told me at least you will have something interesting to write in your journal tonight. So I hope you all find this interesting. All I can say is at least I didn't puke that would be 10 times worse.

Bad Dream

So the last couple of nights I have been having these Crazy dreams!!! Last night was no different of course. The dream wasn't that crazy it was just Random. So back in the day I used to take dance and had these amazing toe touches and leaps. They just came natural to me. I have always had this natural flexibility. Even today I could probably drop down into the splits if you gave me 5 minutes to stretch out beforehand. Well last night I had this dream that I couldn't toe touch anymore. I kept trying to do a toe touch, but it wasn't happening. Its like those dreams when you do everything possible to try and scream, but nothing comes out. Well I woke myself up from this horrible nightmare :) and now I need a dream interpreter to tell me what it means. Will I never toe touch again?????

Denver, Colorado

It's almost 2 in the AM and I can't sleep. Anthony is deep breathing next to me and Choe is having a crazy dream under our bed. It sounds like she is barking, but more muffled. You know like when you think your talking in your dreams, but really it comes out all muffled and not real. Unless your my sister-in-law who full on talks and even yells in her sleep and did I mention also claps and cheers.

I was uploading some pics on my computer...... these are from when I went to Denver for work. Anthony and I had the chance to fly in early June 15th so we could play. Sadly the weather was a lot like Utah's so it was a whole lot of rain. Thats okay though. I love Denver I think it is so pretty. Everyone is so outdoorsie (is that even a word??) Everywhere you look someone is running, biking, skateboarding, walking a dog, or just walking. There is little areas even built in the stairs so people can ride their bikes down and bike trails all over the place.

When we got there of course it was raining. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency which was very close to 16th street. I think thats the right street?? Anyhow it is a whole street that is a mall. There is even a free trolley that runs up and down the street that you can catch, and the best part is its FREE. We rode that until the Cheesecake Factory caught our eye. The best part was it wasn't packed like it always is in Murray. The sun had cleared up just long enough that we were able to enjoy our food outside and then even better we consumed the large piece of Oreo Cheesecake with a side of ice cream. After all that food we caught the little trolley once again and rode it to the very end where we got off and tried to walk off some of the cheesecake. We ended up going to the Aquarium, but of course it started raining on the walk so I decided to run off the cheesecake (not by choice). By the time we reached the Aquarium we were both as soaked as the fish. Here are some pics....

I totally wish I would have paid attention. I didn't know that he wanted a kiss

Anthony took this one. Look at the giant weird looking fish in the middle. Oh wait sorry thats me

I don't really get into the whole touching part. I just like to look, especially since my mom was stung by one of those :(

What an actor. You almost think Jaws is really eating him

I was so excited they had an octopus. He was quite large and in charge

I have to put this picture in. I took it and was so proud of myself. I think it looks like a screensaver or it could almost be a calendar picture.

Anthony just getting a massage by a giant lobster.

Anthony's favorites were the sharks

Don't mind the wet hair.

We had a fun time. If I ever go back I am eating in the restaurant they had in there. It was so neat. Of course it was a seafood restaurant and while you eat the fish there are lots of fish swimming around you in these ginormous tanks giving you the evil eye because you just ate their best friend, cousin, grandpa, or some other close family member. Sad story, but at least were not at the bottom of the food chain.

The next day I had my workshop all day long. It was a fun short trip.

I have another funny story that goes along with this trip, but its about Anthony so I need him to help me remember the details precisely and like I said he is asleep next to me. So I will tell you about it soon

Decisions Decisions

Okay so my hair has reached that point once again where you can see my true hair color growing from the root. aaaaahhhhhh I hate that when it happens. I'm getting ready to make a hair appointment, but for the last month I have been toying with the idea to cut my hair. My hair is to the point that it reaches my shoulders and I'm absolutely hating it. I hate the whole growing out process :(   So here is my question??? do I carry on.... or do I get a bit adventurous and trim a bit?

I Love Victoria Beckham's hair. See if I did this I wouldn't have to cut short layers I would just have my hair cut more into a bob. That way the top of my head with layers can continue growing out, but the rest would actually have a style.
but then again I look at Kate Hudson's hair or Reese Witherspoon's and I get a pang of jealousy
decisions decisons. Of course when I ask Anthony he tells me that he thinks I'm beautiful either way. Great answer, but not much help

so HoT!!

ryan-reynolds-20050715-55176.jpg

Many of you know that I absolutely am in love with Ryan Reynolds. The only reason I was excited to see Wolverine was because he was going to be in it. Oh and I was so upset when he was in it for only a short period of time and then in the very end his face is so ugly and messed up. I know I know it still showed him without a shirt, but it just isn't the same without his hot face and eyes that you could just get lost in.

Well Anthony took me to see the Proposal last n
ight. It was so cute I absolutely loved it. It was actually really funny and gives you warm fuzzies all over. Sandra Bullock is one of my favorites too so it was perfect.

Today I went out and got the mail and we receive Entertainment Weekly, weekly (go figure). Well guess who was on the front cover all rain splotche
d and ruined, but oh man still looked oh so
good. Ding Ding Ryan Reynolds, and it only gets better I opened the next 4 pages and there were full page pics of him. Take a look at my handy work I hung it on the wall above my desk. I think Anthony is going to be excited about it too :) ha ha probably not. :)

Evidence

Okay Okay I will admit it. I am almost 23 years old and yes I still sleep with my baby blanket. Anthony calls it my "ethiopian" because it has been so manhandled. My blanket was actually my crib comforter when I was just a tot. My mom made it, and back then there wasn't the fancy 3D ultrasounds like they have now, she didn't even now what gender I was going to be so she picked mint green.

Well my blanket has been with me through thick and thin. After a sewing class in junior high I decided I would help the poor thing out, but in the end only made it a bit worse. But that hasn't stopped me from sleeping with it every night. When Anthony and I first got married I asked my grandma if she would put a new back on it for me because Anthony was tired of finding chunks of batting in our bed. Well my grandma kept it for a good couple of months I was dying!!! When she finally returned it she asked me if she had succeeded in weening me off of it. I think it only made it worse :)

Well when Anthony and I were in Colorado I snapped a few pics of evidence of his love for my blanket also. Of course he would deny that he even touches "the ethiopian" but a ha you can't deny a picture. And the court rules.......
 he is a blanket lover!!!

Is it all in a Name?

Okay am I the only crazy that has a hard time giving up their name? I was totally excited when I first got married to change my last name I mean I went from Elicia Bearce to Elicia Simon which is much easier. Its bad enough when people slaughter your first name, but its even worse when you have to listen to people slaughter the first and the last. So Simon was a much better change.

Even though it is a much better change and I love being married I still try to hold on to anything that I can with my maiden name. Like my Weber State account at school I have to sign in with the name Elicia Bearce. My bank card says Elicia Ann Bearce Simon just to give it that little extra kick. My car was registered to me in my old name until just recently. I don't know call me crazy but I like the feeling of independence it makes me feel like I'm walking on the wild side. I think the real reasoning behind all of this craziness is because the day I changed my name I had to have our marriage license with me in order to do so. That made sense to me if your going to take on the name of a man you better have evidence that you are married to him. This is the real kicker though, the same day I went to the DMV to change my driver's license, but before I went up there I stopped at home and grabbed a little lunch and left all my paperwork at home except for my new social security card. When I got to the DMV I waited in line and filled out all the paperwork. When I got up to the counter they hardly cared about anything except to ask me if I had my marriage license with me. Does this make sense to anyone else? I had a social security card with my new legal name on it and they weren't going to change my driver's license without my marriage license?!?!?!? Well I left to go home and get the ole marriage license, but on the way home I called Anthony crying. Okay I wasn't crying, but I was on the verge of having a mental break down. I felt like I was lost and becoming a possession of Anthony Simon and had to show my paperwork that I was owned. Anthony was very nice and even told me that he would change his last name if I wanted him to, lets be honest we all know he wouldn't do that, but it was still a nice offer. Even at Weber State when I changed my name they didn't just accept my social security card they also have to have a copy of your marriage license.

Well the other day I was up at the school to take a test. I have been using the same id card since I started school so obviously it has my maiden name on it and I'm 18 in the picture and tan and have long hair. I used this card all last semester to take all of my tests, but for some reason on this yucky day a girl that was hating the world decided to tell me that my card was not acceptable and that she would accept it this time, but I would have to get a new card or bring in my driver's license. I didn't mean to, but I think I might have given her the look of death. I don't know where this is all going honestly I am just rambling, but I have thought long and hard about this and come to the conclusion that I love being married and having the same last name as my husband, but at least I have Elicia Ann thats two names that my wild independent side can hold on to.

Another dog post

I can't help it, this is going to be another post about Chloe. So Chloe has a nice big doggy bed that is in the corner of our bedroom. We are not that nice we don't let her sleep in the same bed as us and its a good thing too. Last night about 3 am I hear this dog awful screech come from Chloe's bed. This isn't the first time its happened, at least once a month Chloe has doggy nightmares. I really wish there was some kind of collar that would allow her to talk just like on the movie Up. I'm very curious to know what her bad dreams are about?!?! So besides the fact she woke me up last night this morning I found out that she had wet her bed when she had the bad dream. It must have been a very bad dream for her to do that. So I dare say dogs are a lot like children they even have bad dreams and wet the bed.

UPDaTE

hmmm what to write about? Sometimes I find it hard to write posts because I don't feel like I have very exciting things going on. You know just the norm. I don't have any young chitlins to write about and I can only write so much about my dog before I start sounding like some kind of crazy person. Well here it goes...

Anthony and I went and saw the movie "UP" last night. It was very cute. If I was a movie crier I definitely would have shed a tear or two. Pixar made a very cute love story!

We have this nasty linoleum in our hallway and kitchen (bathroom too if you want to get technical) there is a little spot in our hallway that it is coming up. The other day I was walking past that spot and it caught my flip flop and made me trip. Well that just opened a whole big can of worms. After that little incident I ripped up that piece in the hallway and then started toward another spot in the kitchen. Anthony came home and I thought I was going to be in big trouble, but lucky enough he just laughed. I have a very patient husband fortunately or else we would both end up in the looney bin. Well next month we are planning on:
  • painting family room, kitchen, hallway
  • new carpet in family room and possibly computer room if we stay in budget
  • tile hallway and kitchen
  • new floor board in family room and moulding around ceiling
  • new couch -- I found two that I am in love with and can't decide
We have said for the last two years that we are going to do all of this stuff, but we keep putting it off. Well there is now no excuses especially since I just ripped up chunks of ugly linoleum.

Anthony and I are getting ready to go for a quick trip to Vegas this weekend. We are leaving Saturday afternoon and returning Sunday evening. I wasn't lying when I said short, but we have to get back because Monday we are leaving for Denver Colorado. Anthony is such a good sport. We are going to Vegas for an Esthetic Conference. Anthony is graciously going to walk around with me and be surrounded by 1000s of women and gay men. Then my work is paying for me to go to Colorado for a SkinMedica workshop so we are leaving early Monday morning and are going to play in Denver all day. Then Tuesday is my workshop day and then we come home that night.

I love to travel!!! I wish I could do it more often, but I will take any little trip I can get in the meantime. I think when I am old instead of putting Anthony and I in a retirement community well just sale our house and be full time cruisers. Just think of the possibilities. We would be able to go all over the place, have meals cooked for us, and have housekeeping daily. We would just jump from ship to ship. Then we could take breaks and go visit our kids and stay with them. I better implant the idea of the importance it is to always have a guest room in your house to my kids while they are young :)
