Christmas has come and gone again

Christmas is always such a fun time of the year. I really enjoy it and being with family. I'm sad to say I don't have any Christmas pictures to put up and share. Sad story, Anthnoy's camera (our good one) stopped working. The screen went all fuzzy. I had my camera which was a Wal-Mart special, but somewhere in the midst of all the Christmas fun I lost my SD card.

I'll start at the beginning which would be Christmas Eve. That night we went over to Anthony's parents and had dinner. There was Dad Simon's famous bean dip, soups, cheese and crackers, crab, really yummy chocolate balls, and some sugary chex mix. We hung out and opened Christmas presents. My favorite part was when Anthony and I gave Summer her gift. It was a (fake) diamond necklace. She opened it up and said I quote "oh my word", only in her cute Summer voice. We all thought it was so cute and funny that she looked around at all of us with her big brown eyes and started crying, because she thought we were making fun of her. It was so sweet though.

We then headed over to my Grandma Mayberry's house to go to my family Christmas Party. It's a tradition that we always bring a white elephant gift and play the left/ right game. I ended up with a box of orange sticks that had movie gift certificates attached to it. Anthony ended up with some kind of tool.

~Christmas Day~
Christmas morning we were at my mom's house. I like having my little brother around (he is 11) he is still young enough that he wakes up at 5 in the morning to open up Christmas presents. Thank goodness I didn't have to I am not a morning person. My main gift was from my mom. She bought me a Cricuit Expression. Its really nice I can cut out all kinds of scrapbooking things with it now. I just ordered 4 cartridges today for it so it will be even more fun when I get all my new fonts and shapes. Anthony spoiled me and bought me a new pair of pants, 3 shirts, nano ipod , ihome (in pink), 3 dvds, new pjs, & new boots. Technically my mac laptop was my Christmas present also, but I got that in October. Anthony's parents were very generous and gave us some fun money, Christmas decorations, and a few fun odds and ends. My dad gave me money for a new printer, which I bought yesterday. It is a Canon MP980. I'm in love with it, my favorite thing about it is its wireless. He also gave me my holiday Barbie. I have gotten one every year since 1989. This is a picture of this years.
holiday08.gif
I don't take them out of the box. They are collectors. I went on ebay once to look up at how much it would be to get the 1988 holiday barbie. She is the only one I am missing. I had good luck with finding her, but she is worth $500.

When we were at my dad's house on Christmas it started to snow soooo bad. The news said the wind was reaching 90 mph speeds and it was snowy and foggy. We ended up having to spend the night because the roads were so bad. The next morning we were up bright and early in order to get home so Anthony could get ready to go to work. The roads were a little slick when we were driving, but not horrible. When we got home I went to pull in the driveway and barely made my nose in before I got stuck. So here is me and Anthony outside at 8:00 am trying to un-dig my car. Of course when I get my car stuck its not just a little stuck its mucho grande stuck! I think my car is invincible and it should drive like a truck through a snow bank:)  I think my neighbor felt sorry for us and he came running out in his University of Utah pajama pants with his pants tucked into his snow boots. I would feel sorry for us to if I was watching from a distance. Anthony and I were both in our pjs Anthony is wearing his cowboy boots because he couldn't find his snow boots (side note: I found his snowboots later that day. They were on his desk that he thinks is his second closet(which drives me bonkers) underneath a pile of clothes, no wonder he couldn't find them. I wouldn't be able to find anything on that disaster either). I wished I had a camera at that moment though. He looked like such a hill billy it was giving me the giggles. We ended up getting my car out after about a 1/2 hour of digging and pushing. Our snowblower was broken (my dad just fixed it, thanks dad) so we had to shovel the rest of the driveway that morning so we could get Anthony's car out of the garage and get him on his way to work. I don't care what anyone says shoveling is the pits. It is hard work. I was kicking myself this weekend. I shoveled the main part of the driveway while Anthony cleaned out the part where the road and driveway meets, so I wouldn't get stuck anymore. After I finished shoveling I did a boot camp class at the gym. When I woke up Saturday I could hardly move. My abs were sore, my back was big time sore, and my upper buns and my shoulders. I know wah wah wah and a little violin, but hey its my blog I'll whine if I want to.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas like I did.

Not mad just bugged

So I took two sweaters to the dry cleaners last Thursday. I don't normally take my clothes to have someone else wash them, but one of the sweaters is 100% cashmere, and I know I don't trust myself with that. Heck, I was ironing a shirt the other day, and it had writing on it. So I flipped it inside out. Around the top was just a tiny piece of velvet, you know the kind of decoration you only get to see, because its inside your shirt. Well here I am ironing away and all of a sudden my iron starts sticking to the shirt and sizzling. My first thought was, stupid iron, you have never been the same since Anthony dropped you. On closer inspection I noticed that I had sizzled the velvet. Oh well it was inside the shirt right. Wrong. That thing gave me a rash from rubbing my neck all day long. So after that little experience and others I won't mention, I decided to take my sweaters to the dry cleaner. The other sweater I took in was just a normal cream colored sweater that probably cost me $20. I like this sweater though. I wore it when I was in California with a pair of really dark denim. I had never washed the pants before and its that kind of dark denim you have to wash by itself before you trust it to wash with your other clothes. So when I was in California I wore the sweater and the pants together. The sweater is one that covers my bootay. So of course the pants turned the inside of the sweater a light denim blue. No big deal right. Well the tag on the sweater said "hand wash and lay flat to dry". Yeah right me hand wash uh uh no way. So to make this long story longer I took it to the dry cleaner and when I picked it up the buttons were melted and attached with a safety pin in a ziploc baggy. I called them right away when I noticed my buttons were gonners. The lady said you didn't specify. I'm just going to throw this question out. Don't you think if you are going to pay money, to have something washed, you would expect the dry cleaner to read the tag? I should mention they also dried it, which its a lay flat to dry item. It does look a tad smaller, but that could be my imagination, but I'm to scared to try it on. They told me they would sew new buttons on for a $1 each. Right, I may not want to wash my own clothes, but I can sew on a button.

On a more happier note.... By the way I will get over this dry cleaning thing give me a couple of hours and maybe some new buttons. Back to the happier note. Anthony and I went to Park City over the weekend. It was fun to get away even if it wasn't very far. The drive up there was pretty it was snowing and everything around us was covered in white. I thought the drive would be scary, but honestly it wasn't to bad. I just recently ordered the Twilight audiobook. Anthony and I saw the movie together and he keeps asking questions about it. I know there is no way I could actually get him to read the book so I was sneaky and got the cds. He wont admit it, but he likes it. I have caught him rolling his eyes a few times, but that is probably for the same reason I have too. Because he just wants Edward to kiss Bella already and he hasn't done it yet. Okay maybe its not for the same reasons, but a nice thought though. When we were in Park City we stayed at the WestGate resort. It is by the Canyons ski resort. We had to listen to a 90 minute spill about owning a time share with them (which we didn't buy). It was worth it though, our room was perfect. We were upgraded so we had a room that could sleep 6 people. There was a kitchenette that was hooked to the tv area which had a nice fireplace. The bedroom was huge with a huge bed. It also had a two seater tub. I took two baths up there, I normally don't take baths, but since I could swim laps in it I enjoyed it :)  The bathroom was really amazing too. The shower was also another of my favorite. Mounted in the top of it was a HUGE shower head that felt like it was raining on you. There was also a thing called Mr. Steam and you just turned up or lowered the heat on it and it steamed while you showered. So cool. We didn't do a ton of stuff while we were there just the usual. We went to Main street and to the outlets. We went out to dinner twice. That is one of my favorite things to do is try new restaurants. The first night we were there our friends Brett and Kristine came up and that is when we tried an Italian restaurant. It was very expensive, but quite tasty. They didn't spend the night though, because they had to get so they could teach their primary class the next day. My brother and a girl (I don't know what she is, just a girl named Jessica) came up on Sunday night and spent the night we went out to dinner with them and watched a movie in our hotel room. All in all it was a fun weekend. I want to go back up and go tubing. I had my heart set on it, but it just isn't fun when your coming down the mountain and your being pelted with snowflakes. I have one picture of us in Park City, but I can't find my camera cord. The batteries died while we were up there and when I got new batteries for it I left the camera in the room. Genius oh well. What is done is done.

waiting

So I'm just hanging out at the computer once again I'm waiting for a webinar to begin. For those who don't know what a webinar is I'll explain. One of the products we carry at work is called La Roche Posay. It is Loreal's medical version of their skin care products. Once and awhile they have training seminars online. So I login and watch online and then I call and it connects me to the computer and everyone else that is watching nationwide. The webinar I am waiting to watch is about a molecule called LHA. I'm excited to learn more about it,because I don't know much and I hate not knowing.

So today I though I would start on a couple of Christmas presents I'm trying to be crafty on. After awhile of working on it I decided to take a break because it was making me sleepy so I thought I would check my e-mails. There was nothing to exciting there just a million Aeropostale e-mails. Everytime I get an e-mail from Aeropostale I think of those little birds that bobble, you know the kind Homer Simpson has. Anyway can't you just imagine Aeropostale having a bobble head bird and it just keeps bobbling and sending e-mails. I hope they don't pay someone to send them, because this would be a much cheaper idea :)

So today we had a nurse come from Farm Bureau our insurance company. She made us pee in a cup, stand on the scale, and take our blood. I'm going to be honest all three of these things weren't fun. Oh and to put a cherry on top of all of that fun stuff I couldn't eat anything from when I woke up until she got there at twelve. I was sneaky though and ate 3 M&Ms. I felt guilty about it though when she asked me what time it was when I last ate. I had to confess about the 3 M&Ms. She just laughed and said those shouldn't make to much of a difference.

Well my webinar is about to start. I will have to let you know how it goes. It's very slow right now at work. So if anyone is interested in coming to get a free chemical peel let me know. I work on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9-5. You can even call me the day of and I will schedule you an appointment. If you have any friends that are interested in skin care let them know too. Right now everyone that I see for the first time they get a complimentary skin care visit and micropeel plus 30% off any products they buy that day. A micropeel is a light chemical peel. Usually I use a 2% lactic acid. So its a good exfoliation that will make your skin look hydrated and refreshed, just what everyone needs around the holidays. For you who are scared of the word peel, I just want you to know that it wont peel your face. Higher percentages of acid will cause that, 2% is like a lick of lollipop. This just came to me. Imagine the tootsie pop commercial where they see how many licks to the center of the lollipop. So if you do a low percentage its like 1 or 2 licks the higher the percentage the closer you get to the tootsie roll in the middle.

Friday Night of eating one to many peanut butter bars

So I'm just sitting here waiting for my computer to import the Twilight audio book into my itunes. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could just put a cd in and say import and bam its imported, instead of all of this waiting. Oh well this gives me a chance to write a post for all of you happy people.

So its 11:12 on a Friday night. I am just sitting in my computer room on my exercise ball. This ball never gets used to exercise, but instead has become a permanent resident at my desk for a chair. I was playing with my new zit zapper, but new toys aren't fun when you have to wait for them to charge. I got it from work. My boss says "you don't have a zappo"? I told her I don't even know what that is. Anyway it is this wonderful (expensive device) that your supposed to hold to a zit and it zaps it away. I haven't had the luxury of trying it; obviously since it is plugged in the wall charging away.

I'm going to be honest there is no rhyme or reason to this blog, I am just writing it as it comes. I would go to bed, because I am really tired, but I can't until I brush my teeth, wash my face and put all of my creams and serums on, and take out my contacts. The problem is my husband has been hogging the bathroom for the last little while. You know its never a good sign when he enters the bathroom carrying a magazine (I love you Anthony).

So tonight we attended Anthony's dad's choir concert. Anthony's dad is the institute choir director for Weber State. I thought it was really good. It has probably been one of my favorites I have seen. I say that with sincere honesty, because I have been to 4 of them now, plus 3 of the spring shows. It is always fun to go and see my brothers and sister-in-law in the shows. Especially when we go to the after party and Thomas gets hit on by Tinker Bell on Speed (short, but long story).

When we got home, we let Chloe out of the hall, where we contain her while were gone. The first thing she loves to do is rub her back on our family room floor. She is kind of a weirdy, but we enjoy her. She is way past due for a bath and a haircut. When she looked up from her rub I couldn't help but snap a pic of her. If dogs had bed head this is what it would look like

So I snapped some pictures of my Christmas trees the other day. This is for you Aly since you live soooooo far away.
The first two pics are of the tree in my living room. One was taken during the day and the other at night. The other tree that has Santa next to it is the one in my family room. My mom was so nice to buy me that tree on Black Friday morning.

I'm sorry for whoever is reading this. I really could go on and keep rambling. Like I could tell you about my ugly sucks I am wearing, but I wear them because they are so dang warm. You have to do everything you possibly can when your husband likes to keep the house at 63 degrees.

So I am doing this thing at the gym I go to. Its called flight to the north pole. Basically how it works you have to attend 25 gym classes in the month of December. Each class is worth 100 miles and you need 2500 miles to make it to the north pole. So each time I attend a gym class I have to take my "passport" and have the teacher sign it. I'm telling you all this so I'll feel guilty if someone asks me about it and I haven't been doing it, because I know I can. There is even double mile days. If I make it to the north pole I get a surprise. Exciting isn't it.

Oh Happy Days I just heard a flush. Well have a good night or day depending when you read this blog of nonsense.

first day

So I am official now. I have a job and work two days a week. Today was my first official day of seeing patients. I was booked back to back all day long, which was awesome, and I loved it. I just did chemical peels and a few skin consultations on new patients. I'm not going to lie, I didn't sleep very well last night, because of today. I can't say if I was nervous or excited, but it was probably a bit of both. Haven't you ever noticed that being excited and being nervous is the same feeling? It just depends on the situation on what you want to call that feeling. So I never said I was nervous, only excited that way it made me pumped for all day long.

Since it was Thanksgiving a few days ago I wanted to list off a few things that I am thankful for.
My husband, my family, my little Chloe, my job, my car, my house, my education, my health, and pretty much everything else that I have been given in my life. I think it is important to think about the things we are thankful for everyday. Remember when someone says "good morning" I think you should say "yes it is". And be thankful for everyday that you have.
