Life goes on

Okay finally finished the 5th season of Ghost Whisperer. My life can now go on. Why do I have to find things that suck me in around the last part of the school semester? Dumb Dumb Dumb!!! I already don't want to do homework, but if I throw in something like that, then I definitely don't know how (or want to) prioritize my time.

  • Like I mentioned summer semester is over on the 6th, and I could not be more happier about that.
  • Got my hair colored today. Nothing crazy, but feels and looks good.
  • Bought a new hair straightener (it's pink :), just love new toys.
  • I am planning an overnighter camping trip as soon as school is done
That is my current exciting life in a nut shell.

Anthony went and played basketball with a few guys from work last night. I couldn't have been happier, absence makes the heart grow fonder you know. Before he left I went for a run in the mountain trails right behind my house. It felt so good to get out even if I did feel like I was running around with a wet blanket on my head. Well worth it. When I got back there was dinner waiting for me. A hotdog and 1/2 an ear of corn. It was perfect.

When Anthony returned from his triumphant game of basketball he was limping around. He said his foot and leg hurt. It wasn't until I saw his big toe that I truly felt bad for him. The nail on his big toe was purple. Poor boy he takes better care of his feet then I take of my own, and now he has a purpley blue toenail. He is really worried that he might lose his nail.

I guess what happened is there were about 5 guys from RcWilleys who met up at the church to play. There was some other guys there that they didn't know, but the other guys asked if they wanted to play 5 on 5. The guy Anthony was guarding charged him and ran into his leg and stepped on his foot.

Back in the day

Remember how Anthony and I ran in the Ogden 5K clear back in May? Well, we almost forgot too, it seems so long ago. Here is the pictures though presented to you in July.

It was so cold that morning when we woke up. Here is us heading to the starting position. The 5K starts at the Timbermine on the Ogden trail that runs parallel to the river. The opening to Ogden Canyon is right there and the wind blows through there so hard!!! My legs were so cold. Check out our sleepy faces. I think this is about 6:15am ish

Go Anthony go go go
Go Anthony go go go again. Wait, where is Elicia? Oh that's right there is no pictures of me running because my in-laws only saw Anthony and figured I must have been a gazillion years behind him.

When we walked up to them to say "hi" and thanks for coming they were shocked to see me. They were still watching for me :) Anthony's mom said she was going to be mad at him for leaving me. Reality I was only a few seconds behind him

Anthony finished at: 25:53
Elicia finished at: 26:00 even

Check out our film crew and cheerleaders. Thanks for coming guys it made a difference to have a fan club at the end. We were even treated to breakfast at Village Inn afterwards. So much for the 3 point something miles we just ran, but it was well worth it.

hmmm thinkers

Ever watch back-to-back episodes of television series? A couple of years ago I got sucked into Alias and soon enough I was a spy sneaking around the house ready to back flip down a hall to escape my enemy. More recently I started watching Ghost Whisperer. We don’t have cable television so there isn’t much on. One day I was watching ion television (16.1) and Ghost Whisperer came on. I wasn’t immediately in love with it, but it came on the same time every weekend and there wasn’t anything else on, so I started watching it. Now I’m addicted and I am watching all 5 seasons and have become a ghost buster trying to cross over earthbound spirits, while looking as hot as Jennifer Love Hewitt and her ginormous boobs (there real you know, I googled it. I was curious. Don’t’ judge me)

After we got home this morning from the gym I watched an episode (What else is there to do at 6:30 in the am?)

Let me ask you this question.... Say you are hiking with your husband and your 15 yr old daughter or vice a versa your wife and your daughter. All of a sudden your wife/husband slips and starts falling and catches them self on the edge of a cliff. You run down there to save them and try to pull them up, but you can’t get any traction to pull them up. Your daughter is watching from up above and starts coming down to help. Pretty soon your daughter starts falling and is going to fall of the same cliff.

What do you do? On one hand there is your spouse you are holding, but your child is falling and is going to die.

I asked Anthony what would he do in this scenario. Tough question isn’t it.

You could see the nervousness in his face as he responded. He didn’t want to get it wrong. I myself am not sure. On one hand here is the person you have chosen to spend the rest of your life with and are completely in love with and wouldn’t know what to do without. The other hand there is your own flesh and blood that you also have a deep love for.

Anthony’s response was that his dad always said if there was ever a time he had to pick between his mom and the kids he would choose his mom. So Anthony said he would pick me.

Also....

As I was getting ready I was doing my hair and I thought to myself, why can’t everyday be a good hair day? Then all of a sudden things got very deep in the bathroom with just Chloe and I and the blow dryer. I know of course why everyday can’t be a good hair day, how would I know what a bad hair day was if I didn’t have one once in awhile. Those bad hair days sure make me grateful for the good hair days. I love you Joseph and Kalee and hope you guys can get through your bad hair day soon.

wifey wife 101

Friday is finally here and I am so excited. Why, you might ask. Well I'll tell you why. I work a strenuous 14 hours a week, 16 if you want to count my hour lunch breaks. I'm taking 9 credit hours at school. I pooped out of 12 what the heck was I thinking??? Math online, ugh no thanks, dropped that after a week or two. Whenever it was, of course, it was a day past the deadline to get the full refund. Everyday I wake up at 4:55 AM just to hit the snooze and really wake up at 5:04. Well, actually the alarm goes off at 5:04 then I tell Anthony to wake up and kind of start pushing him out of the bed. That way if I fall back asleep I know he is at least part way out and I can blame him if we don't make it to the gym.

I really can't complain about anything. Usually that is the response I will give too, if asked how I am, "I can't complain," I'll say.

Especially like today when I came home, it's Friday, it's 100 degrees, and the couch is calling my name. Anthony said he was going to be leaving work in a second, so I thought, I'll just sit here. Scratch that. Lie here for a minute.

By the time he arrived home (more like an hour later not a second) I was dozing on the couch watching ghost whisperer (more to come on this later) I heard the gate open and Chloe come skidding around on the tile floor tail wagging so fast you think she was going to take flight like a helicopter. I hurried and opened my eyes pretending that I had been awake the whole time. This is where the master mind comes in. Anthony sits down and asks what were going to do. Of course I'm groggy and not feeling like much of anything, especially not making dinner :( I tell him I don't feel so good and my head hurts (not a lie--of course it hurts it's a million degrees and my head fell asleep in a kinked position and its so hot my nose is stuffy) Then my wonderful hubby said well I'll make dinner and we can just hang out. I then worked it just a titch more and ask "if I feel better after dinner can we go get ice cream." That's a duh answer, Anthony is always on board for ice cream.

Well I'm still in my same couch spot. Anthony was so nice to turn the fans on and swamp cooler. He made me dinner and is cleaning Anthony style, and wow I feel much better so were off to Coldstone in my jammies.

Wifey wife 101--work it whenever you can.

I scream you scream The Simons all scream for ice cream

even poor Chloe who never gets any. Darn it

overnighter

My parent's own a cabin in Oakley, Utah (next to Kamas which is about 25 mins. from Park City) Anthony, Aaron, Terra, and I decided to go up there Saturday and spend the night. The boys had to work at good ole RC Willeys Saturday day so Terra and I went up to Park City and got a little shopping in.

That night we made chicken sandwiches, homemade sweet potato fries, corn, and homemade ice cream. We had a sugar high going on with muddy buddies and sugar cookies.

Pictionary man looking a little scandelous
Aaron's turn.
Aaron and Terra
We went to Park City the next day. Aaron and Terra both grew up in other states, so this is the first time Aaron has ever been to Park City. We had fun showing him the sights.

On the way home we were rushing to get home, so we could go see Joseph (Anthony's brother) he was admitted in the hospital on Saturday. I ended up getting pulled over for speeding. I have been pulled over many many times and never had a ticket. No bueno

A little bit of Chloe's Life

Doesn't look very comfortable, but Chloe doesn't mind it. She is giving me her honest opinion about the shirt I was trying on. What a good shopping buddy.
I got a shirt for my birthday and it was a little to small so I just needed to run in and exchange it. It's so hot outside now that I feel guilty leaving Chloe out in the heat. She is so funny she gets excited when she sees her leash and she gets excited when I pull out her doggy purse. You can't tell in the picture, but she is happy to be hanging around in the dressing room.

Smuggled in pooch.
Pets are not allowed at the Drive Inn. Chloe told me she wanted to go see Toy Story 3 so bad that she was willing to hide behind the pillows and blankets until the movie started. She didn't care for the Prince of Persia so she climbed up in the front seat of the Yukon and went to bed.

My birthday

Well I'm 24 now. I got spoiled with lots of clothes and am just now starting to run out of birthday outfits, bummer.

I went to Cherry Days in North Ogden, Eclipse, Surf N' Swim, Simply Sushi, Coldstone, and played some croquet.

Joseph, Kalee, Anthony, and I went to Surf N' Swim. When we were paying to get in I asked if they had any birthday deals, and guess what I got in for FREE.

We took much neater pics, but those are on one of those wind up under water cameras.

Kalee was really into the idea of pushing people out of their tubes into the water. She is kind of like a little kid.
I think Anthony was just excited to get out and play. You can tell by his paleness that he doesn't see much of it.
My mom and step-dad made me dinner and invited everyone over. Cody even brought a girl over later that evening to watch Austin's home firework show. I wish I would have taken a picture of the little stuffed panda. He has to much time and creativity on his hands. All I'll say is there was a hole in the panda's butt and firecrackers coming out of it along with 3 of them sticking out of his head. Just when we thought the show was over Austin would run in the house just to come out with another plastic sack of fireworks. My mom said she didn't even buy him any this year. Someone better check that little pyros room.

If you look close you will see my birthday candle is 2 matches.

Happy Birthday to Me

It's a bummer thing when the 4th of July falls on a Sunday. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with Sunday, but it just doesn't feel right when your birthday falls on a day of rest.

I did have fun on what my little brother, Austin, called my "Happy Fake Birthday." 6:30 AM Anthony and I ran the West Point 5K with my mom. Unfortunately Anthony had to work, so I dropped him off at RC Willeys and headed up to North Ogden for Cherry Days and had fun with his parents and siblings, without him.

That night we went out for a birthday dinner with some friends. I of course chose sushi and to go to Eclipse.

I am not sure what today is going to hold in store for me, so I will keep you posted, but do read on and enjoy my birthday tribute to myself :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a birthday tribute to myself. You may say to yourself this girl has too much time on her hands, well that may be slightly true, but if I had way too much time I would have round up the missing years :)

This is me born on July 4, 1986 at a whopping 7lbs. 3oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. I was born at 10:24 PM at McKay Dee Hospital (the one that used to be right across the street from Weber State University). My mom said she could see the fireworks going off when I was born.
My first birthday. That cake looks so beautiful in this picture, but you watch the home video and you will see I demolished the whole thing.

From 1 we jump to 8.

From 8 I turn 13 and gain some big ugly glasses and a baby brother. We used to go camping pretty much every year on my birthday.
Whoo I got contacts by the age of 14. This is me right before walking/dancing in the Clearfield 4th of July parade.
I was dunked in a pool, that is why I look so beautiful in my rainbow shirt on my 17th birthday.
I like big hair and I can not lie
You other sisters can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty mane
And a flat thing in your face
You get stung
Wanna pull it up tough
Cuz you notice that hair needs fluffed
Deep in the roots she's carrying
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring...

Definitely not afraid of the backcomb at the age of 19

20th birthday

Must have had to much fun on my 21st birthday to stop to take a picture instead this is me on my 22nd.
Sparklers and all on my 23rd.
