Back to school

Just a thought. How come I don't get back-to-school clothes? I'm going back to school and I only had a two week summer break. I know boo hoo it is a sad story.

School started Monday for me at good ole Weber State - great great great.

I have a multimedia web animation (aka Flash player) class at 7:30 every Mon. Wed. and Friday morning. Just when I thought I didn't like my Tues/ Thurs 7:30 class I had in the summer. I go and do it to myself again, except this time its three days a week.

I have math 1030 class Monday and Wednesday nights at 4:30. Best part about it is I'm not even registered for the class I'm going to. On Monday about 4:15 I decide to start heading to my class and get a good parking spot. As I'm driving I take a peak at my schedule to see which building and room number my class is in only to look closely and realize I signed up for a class at the Davis Campus Building. Oh brother. Well I decided to go to the math 1030 class at WSU that is full. I sat through the entire lecture, took notes, and laughed at the lame jokes the teacher made ( I needed to make a good impression). After class I went up to her and told her my pity sob story to see if she would let me in. She told me to continue trying to register for her class. If it is still full by Monday then she will talk to her boss and see if they can overwrite it and let me in. If that doesn't work she knows the teacher that I'm supposed to be driving a half hour to go listen to and said that she will talk to him and see if he will allow me to stay registered in his class, yet I will go to hers, and she will submit my grade to him at the end of the semester for him to submit. Now I will really sincerely laugh at her lame jokes, because she is so dang nice.

I also have a Photoshop class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:15 AM and have to miss work for this class. This is the ONLY time they offer this class. There is something wrong with the TBE department their scheduling is so screwy. Oh worst time ever, I can never find a parking spot, not even the quarter meter spots that I already plan on giving all my car washing quarters to, just so I don't have to walk :)

To top everything off and give me 12 credit hours I also have a gerentology statistics class I am forced to take to meet my scientific inquiry requirement to get a Bachelors of Science.

Fun fun fun.

oh p.s. my baby brother, Austin, started 7th grade this year. I just can't believe it. He wasn't even scared no matter how much I tried to torture and scare him. What else are big sisters for?

Picking my Battles

All of us married folk know that when you get married its all about picking your battles. Before I say anymore I just want you all to know that I love my husband very very much and am so glad that he is such a hard worker that I am able to only work 2 days a week and go to school. He also helps out a lot and is a wonderful cook and makes most of our meals.

I use this blog as another journal, so I thought I would add this tid bit of our life, so one day down the road after I have kids and I look back at my life wondering what I ever did with my free time. I will have a typed account of it with pictures.

Well if your wondering what this gross looking picture is its a pizza pan that has been sitting in the sink for 3 days now. This is my battle. I let the one go that happened this morning and am still holding strong to this one.

Okay here is the background. Saturday I went out with a friend and had a girl's day. The night before Anthony, Joseph, and I all went out to Tony's pizza for dinner and we had half a pizza leftover. Anthony went fishing with Joseph Saturday morning and when he returned he re-heated the pizza in the oven and left the pan sitting on the stove with little crumbs everywhere.

We both got home Saturday night at the same time and I couldn't figure out where the pizza pan came from, because it didn't make sense that he re-heated it in the oven since it was already cooked. I normally just throw it in the microwave. I asked him why there was a pizza pan and he told me and then said he would clean it.

Sunday rolls around we went to church and had a great sacrament meeting. It was about keeping the home a sacred place and keeping it organized. Anthony thinks I'm a nut because if there is a pair of flip flops in the family room, and the blankets and pillows aren't straightened I think the house is dirty. The Sacrament meeting talked about how we should keep our houses organized and clean so life can run smoothly and the spirit can dwell there. I don't think the spirit would dwell in our house with flip flops in the middle of the floor and pillows and blankets and remotes floating around. Definitely wouldn't want to step foot in the kitchen with that pizza pan chillin in the sink.

So here is day 3 and I am not giving in :) Am i being childish absolutely!!! Ask me if I care, and you might not like the response.

The Simons go camping

We went camping well AE Simon did. *side note* I like to refer to us as AE Simon, because if we just write Simon on anything we own there are plenty of other family members who could possibly claim it as theirs. After all there are a few of us. Such as: JD Simon, JZ Simon, JS Simon, AE Simon, JK Simon, TJ Simon, and Becca :)

We headed up to Lyman Lake on Saturday. We were supposed to leave at 2:00, so Chloe and I went to pick up Anthony from RC Willeys, but ended up sitting in the car for a whole hour waiting for him to close a sale (thank goodness he did, if I had waited that long for nothing....you get it) We ended up going up about 3 then and drove through the Weber Canyon up to Evanston. It was raining cats and dogs on the way up and we were a little worried.

It was beautiful though when we arrived no rain! We set up the tent and cooked turkey dogs over the fire.

The next day we decided to do a little fishing. Of course just when we got loaded up it started to rain on us, a little, so we chickened out and came back in. Good thing too or we would have been soaked. After a game of Phase 10 (which I won) we took a long well needed nap. It did clear up later on and we went back out.

Not so cute picture of me and Chloe. Yes that is a kid fishing pole, in fact it is a Barbie fishing pole. I like it. Whenever I fish I am generally in a raft or float tube so it is the perfect size and has an incredible casting range on it.

Check out Chloe's new life Jacket. Body Glove makes life preservers for dogs. I was so excited when I found it and even more excited when I learned it was on clearance. Chloe has never been in a body of water not even a tub full of water. What if she would have jumped in and drowned. There is a lot of money invested in that pooch, I can't let her just jump in. She actually did really well in the raft and just laid between Anthony and my feet and fell asleep.

Isn't it so pretty up here

Our campsite. Anthony was so excited about our new gazebo
The pyro was also excited to start a fire every chance he got. We did have some scrumptious smores on Sunday night
In trouble.... Chloe was so good and loved loved loved camping. Every time you turned around though she was chasing a bird, squirrel, or bug. She just wanted to investigate and if we would have let her she would have taken a trip around the entire lake. Monday morning when I got up Anthony had tied her to a log. She was not at all excited about this.

bienvenido a casa

Bienvendio a casa desde Ecuador Becca!!!
Welcome home from Ecuador Becca!!!

Becca (Anthony's sister) was gone for 3 whole months in Ecuador working at an orphanage. We are so happy to have her back!!!! It just wasn't the same without her.

I got this marvelous balloon for her. Just in case you were wondering it is a fiesta hat. No one else seemed to know what it was. No, it's not a banana and no, it's not something that resembles a banana for those of you with dirty minds (aka my husband). I couldn't find a welcome home balloon how bizarre you would think for sure there would be a welcome home balloon. So, it was either the hat or a congratulations on your baby balloon.

Sunday Drive

Anthony and I decided to get out of the hot house Sunday and take a drive. We drove up to the Uintahs through Kamas and did the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway and then popped out by Evanston. Anthony started rationing my water intake and said he was getting tired of stopping at every out house. How rude. It's not like I was enjoying the smell of those out houses. Surprisingly it smelled like a really rancid perm and to top it off you get little onlooking flies buzzing around. What little perverts, can't a girl do her business in peace?

We want to go camping this upcoming weekend so we were scoping out a new spot to camp. I think we both agreed on going to the old spot (Lyman Lake). It's like going to a restaurant I always order the same thing. Why risk it when you know it's good?

The only picture I took on our four hour trip was of this poor little piggy probably on his way to becoming bacon, but I thought he was cute. We were stuck in traffic in Evanston and this happy pink chap happened to be stopped next to us, so I was able to snap a quick pic on my phone.

Can't you see his cute little nose.
